The Elegant Warrior with Heather Hansen

Sep 21, 2020

You can win just about anything you want. The power to win is all about elegance, and elegance starts with making the best choices every day. You make your choices and then your choices make your life. I know it sounds simple because it really is that simple. I want to share with you some of the choices that I’ve made in my life, big and small, that have shaped who I am today. I currently live in New York City and since the pandemic, I’ve had to make some difficult choices that I want to share with you today. Join me as we discuss the power of advocating for yourself by using the tools of choice to impact change and what you need to do now to make the elegant choices that will shape your best life.

Today we discuss —

The power of your choices

  • The root of the word elegance is to choose.
  • You choose everything in your life, whether you think about those choices or not.
  • If you want to have a different life, you have to start making different choices.
  • Every successful big choice starts with a series of smaller daily choices.
  • What have your choices cost you? Good and bad choices both have an impact on your success.

Choosing your thoughts

  • You can choose the thoughts that lead to your feelings, actions, and results.
  • Your perspective will first shape your thoughts.
  • Your inner jury has the ability to make the choices that will best affect the outcome.
  • Use evidence to support your story and change your perspective.
  • In order for change to happen, choice has to come first.

The tools of choice

  • Elegance means choosing with intention.
  • Words will influence your inner jury.
  • Perspective will shape how you see yourself and see the world.
  • Question yourself to help your inner jury make better decisions.
  • Credibility means you believe in yourself and your choices.
  • Evidence can support your inner jury in making the best choices for you.
  • Presentation and reception can influence the way you make decisions.
  • Negotiation and argument can be used effectively on your inner jury.

Making choices in times of crisis

  • A midlife crisis can be a choice to do something you love.
  • A crisis is a turning point when change has to come.
  • The pandemic has given us opportunities to make choices.
  • You choose your elegance and you choose your choices — make sure that you’re doing it intentionally.
